Product: Philips Satinelle Epilator

I've been wanting to buy an epilator because DIY waxing is sometimes clunky and you need to wait for the underarm hairs to grow long enough so they will stick to the wax and can be uprooted. Salon waxing is more convenient but I find it to be an unnecessary expense, because it's something that I can do on my own. Going the laser hair removal route is the best option for underarm hair but I still don't have the budget for it (or I just refuse to make a budget for it).

Enter Philips Satinelle Epilator, which I bought at SM Appliance Center for P2,495.00.

This epilator is actually for the legs, but the one intended for whole body use (Philips Satinelle Soft) was P2,000 more expensive because it comes with a few attachments. I thought I don't need those extras and it looked like the Satinelle can do the job without them. So I went with the basic model.

Model Number and Electrical Specs

Speed Settings and other features

Because I chose not to get the more expensive model, the box only contains the actual epilator + power cord and a multi-language manual. So don't expect much.

Operating it is pretty easy to figure out. Just slide the head into the body and make sure it fits snugly. Plug it in and push the speed slider up. 0 = off, 1= low setting for gentle epilation and 2 = max setting for faster epilation.

I intended to use this on my underarm so that's where I tested it first. Before using it, make sure the underarms are clean and dry. Then just gently swipe it on the skin with an up and down, and sideways motion.

For me, the actual epilation didn't hurt at all but I made a mistake of letting it stay on just one area of my underarm for too long because there are some short stubborn hairs that I wanted to pull out. The result, I scrape my skin in that area.

So be careful because the Satinelle epilator doesn't have a cover and the rotating metal tweezers will come in direct contact with your skin. Remember to keep the swiping motion. If you start to feel some sting, stop and check if you have bruised your skin. If you have, stop using it.

Except for that one-time scraping incident, I think Philips Satinelle epilator does a great job of pulling out my underarm hairs, even the shorter ones. Although I think it will be easier if you can ask someone to help you keep your skin taut as I notice those hairs in the creases are the most difficult to get.

It also doesn't cause chicken skin but sometimes, I do get in-grown hairs (just 1 or 2). But this is still so much better and more convenient than DIY waxing. It's so easy to use and will come out cheaper in the long run because you won't need to keep buying wax strips (or whatever you're using). I love the fact that I don't have to wait for my hairs to grow long and avoid wearing sleeveless shirts until I wax my underarm.

Now, whenever I notice some visible hair growths, I just plug it in, swipe it on and I'm done. Philips Satinelle epilator definitely made my life easier.

Product: Deonat Deodorant Stick

Finally, the correct Deonat Deodorant Stick. After more than a year, I've finally used up the Deo Fresh Deodorant that I reviewed here. If you read my previous post, you'll learn that I was intending to buy Deonat but mistakenly picked Deo Fresh because they look almost the same.

But when it was time to buy a new deodorant, I made sure I picked the right natural deodorant stick: Deonat.

Like the first one, Deonat is a made of natural alum crystal or tawas. It was shaped and smoothened so it will easily glide on the underarms. I choose the variant infused with Aloe because it is said to soothe and moisturize the skin. And for comparative purpose as well, because the Deo Fresh that I bought before has Aloe also.

At first glance, they look pretty much the same. The Deonat alum crystal is light green while Deo Fresh is just white, which makes me wonder if the green color is because of the Aloe extract or just product coloring (but Deonat claims it has NO added coloring). Despite the color, it leaves no residue, white or otherwise, on my clothes.

Deonat also has an expiration date, a novelty that I appreciate because at least I'll know that the product I'm applying on my body is still safe to use.

You use it the same way, by wetting the top with water and applying it on clean underarms, preferably after a bath.

They are both NOT anti-perspirant so I didn't expect for Deonat to keep me dry. And it doesn't. As a deodorant, I think it's doing a good job. I don't have body odor and my underarms smell okay most of the time even when they're sweaty, except when I have a thick undergrowth because I am growing my underarm hair in preparation for waxing. Underarm hair is a major culprit in offensive body odor. But it's not really a strong repulsive smell like a bad B.O. but rather the scent of sweat and hair mixed together. And applying Deonat after taking a bath takes care of that problem.

I thought Deonat glides more smoothly on the skin and smells better, too. It also made my underarm skin feels softer and silkier. But I can't tell if it whitens the skin because I'm alternating it with Human Heart Nature Sunflower Oil, which I've proven to have whitening properties as well.

Overall, I think I like Deonat Deodorant Stick better than Deo Fresh. Price is almost the same, so I'll go for the better product.

Product: Lactacyd White Intimate Feminine Wash

I would sometimes try other feminine wash but I always find myself going to Lactacyd Feminine Wash. And when they came out with Lactacyd White Intimate that promises to whiten intimate areas, I promptly got myself one.

I tried the 60 ml bottle first, which I bought from Watson's for P64.95. I like the fresh mild scent and the creamy and silky consistency of White Intimate. Regular Lactacyd feminine wash is more liquid and I would often spill a few drops when I'm using it. The White Intimate has a thin creamy consistency and it would sit perfectly in the middle of my palm - spill-free.

But the main question is, does it really white your intimate area?

I believe it does. I used Lactacyd White Intimate a few months after I have given birth. When you're pregnant, certain areas in your body will inevitably darken due to hormonal changes. Unfortunately, I was one of those who had visibly (and ugly) dark skin on every crease and fold (neck, underarms, groin, back of the elbow, back of the knee).

At first, I was using Pond's Antibacterial Facial Scrub on my intimate areas but I wasn't seeing encouraging results. Plus I find the extra step of washing those areas for the second time with Pond's and waiting for at least a minute before I rinse it off too much of a hassle, that I would often forget to do it (and maybe that's why it wasn't effective for me).

I want something that I can be done and over with in 15 seconds. Which is why a whitening feminine wash makes sense. And after a week of using Lactacyd White Intimate, I noticed the effect. It wasn't much, maybe just a shade whiter but it was noticeable enough (or my eyes were fooling me). So I just kept using it and even purchased the bigger bottle after I used up the 60 ml that I first bought.

Now, I think my intimate areas are back to their "normal" shade and I'm still using Lactacyd Intimate White to keep them that way.

Product: Human Heart Nature Body Lotion - Moonlight Passion

Once, I ran out of my favorite St. Ives body lotion and my skin was looking dehydrated, dull and scaly already as a result of not using any lotion for weeks. So the next time we went for some light grocery shopping, a body lotion was on top of my list. But the supermarket that we went to sell only limited St. Ives products (or maybe I just couldn't find where they placed the lotions), and looking at the other available body lotions on the shelf and seeing parabens and other scary chemicals in the ingredients made me decide to try Human Heart Nature Body Lotion.

Luckily for me, or so I thought, 200 ml bottles were bundled with free 50 ml bottles. I think the 200 ml bottle retailed for less than P200.00. Seemed like a good deal. And the 100% No Harmful Chemicals added an enticing offer. So I was left with choosing which variant to get. There were two (forgot the other one) but I chose Moonlight Passion because of the bubblegum scent plus it said 100% hydrating lotion, something that my skin needed badly at that time.

The following day, after I showered, I put my newly bought Human Heart Nature to the test. The first thing that I noticed was it wasn't easy to spread on the skin. It looked like my skin wasn't absorbing the lotion at all. The consistency was light and creamy but it would clump together when I start applying it on my skin making it difficult to spread evenly and it leaves a sticky white trace.

But once I've managed to rub the lotion onto the skin, I noticed that it felt powdery after a few minutes. I thought that's good because I don't want to feel sticky and greasy all over. However, washing my hands after a few hours, I could feel that the lotion was still just on the top layer of the skin, coating it and not really absorbed into it.

I used it for a few more days expecting that my skin would improve in texture and appearance. But the longer I used it, the more my skin looked worse. It felt drier and coarsier than before and it even looked wrinkly.

I checked the expiration date on the bottles because I used the smaller one first, thinking it might be an old stock already that's why they bundled with the larger bottle. But both had the same expiration dates. I also tried getting lotion from the 200 ml bottle, thinking it might be a newer, better stock, but I got the same disappointing result.

When my husband commented how bad my skin looked and felt, I realized that it makes no sense to continue using the Human Heart Nature Body Lotion. Not only did it not deliver good results, it made my skin looked worse. I was able to empty the smaller 50 ml bottle, but the 200 ml was still 75% full when I gave it away.

I think Human Heart Nature has discounted this lotion because they were also receiving a lot of negative feedback about this product on their website. I'm just not sure if the newer formulations are better than this.

Product: Veet Hair Removal Wax Strips

Instead of posting my review of Veet Hair Removal Wax Strips, I will give a few tips on how to do DIY underarm waxing. I've been waxing my underarm for a year now, and I kind of developed my own technique.

This can helpful to those who want to try DIY underarm waxing but haven't figured out how to do it yet.

But briefly, let me say that yes, Veet Hair Removal Wax Strips (or most wax strips) work, provided that you use them properly. Once you've perfected DIY underarm waxing, these wax strips are the best and cheapest alternative to going to salon/beauty shops to have your underarms waxed.

Why I choose wax strips:

  1. I don't have to heat them. I'm afraid to use hot wax on my underarm.
  2. They are safer and less messy than heating wax and applying it on your skin.
  3. They are a lot lot cheaper than salon underarm waxing. One box of 12 strips can last up to 5 or 6 or more waxing sessions.
  4. An epilator is a lot easier to use and might be more efficient, but I don't have the budget to buy one yet, so I'll stick to wax strips for now. The same goes for laser hair removal.
  5. Waxing definitely gets rid of chicken skin, so forget about plucking or shaving.

There are two Veet Hair Removal Wax Strips sizes: the regular long one for the legs and the shorter one for the face. Both can be used for underarms and both boxes will contain 12 wax strips and 2 oil-paper wipes. The facial wax strips, I think, is cheaper by P100 than the regular wax strips.

If you use the longer one, just cut the wax strip in to 3 or 4 smaller pieces, depending on how small or big is the area covered with hair. I usually cut it into 3.

If you use the shorter one, of course you don't have to cut it anymore. But bear in mind that the facial wax strips are narrower, and won't usually cover your whole underarm area. It's also best for finer, softer hairs.

Before you start waxing:

  1. Make sure to wash your underarms, but don't wax right after you take a bath. Your skin is softer and more sensitive and therefore more prone to wax burns during this time. I usually wait at least an hour.
  2. Don't put anything on your underarms. No deos and make sure you're not yet sweating.
  3. Make sure your underarm hair is long enough, at least an inch long. Otherwise, you'll just be in a wax mess and won't be able to pull anything out. Even if the package says it can pull hair as short as 2 cm, don't believe it.

If you have someone to help you place the strip in the proper area and pull it after, the better. If not, you can stand in front of the mirror to see where to place the strip.

Ok, let's start my DIY underarm waxing procedure:

Brush you hair with a comb or your fingers so that most of them are in one direction.

To lightly warm the wax, rub the strip between your hands for a few seconds. Or you can use the trusty hair dryer to heat the strip. But if you do, wait for the strip to cool down a little because a hot wax strip can cause wax burn. And I tell you, you don't want that. Wax burn = dark underarms.

Place the strip on your underarm, particularly in the area with most hair. Don't worry about not covering your entire underarm as you can wax these areas later.

Gently smooth out the strip with your hand, making sure that most hairs are sticking to the wax.

Then pull quickly (or have someone to pull it for you). The quicker the better, and make sure to pull against the direction of the hair growth.

Not all hair will be pulled out so you need to wax again. But instead of placing the strip in the same area, use the edge/corner of the strip to target a smaller area where the remaining hairs are. You can also use the middle part, but don't spread it out. Don't stick the whole strip on your underarm, only on the part where there are hairs.

As much as possible, don't wax the same area more than thrice because this will irritate your underarm skin and will often cause wax burn. A stinging sensation is normal, but if you skin starts to hurt, stop waxing in that area. Do the "smaller area" technique above.

Actually, you only need to wax your whole underarm once or twice, to get most of the hair. The "smaller area" technique can finish off the rest of the hair.

You can reuse the strip but if hair is not sticking to it anymore, use a new one. This is also the reason why I cut the long strips, because it's more practical. This way, I can use one box of wax strips for at least 6 sessions.

Depending on how sensitive your skin is, redness and a slight burning sensation will follow.  This is normal, as long as it doesn't hurt too much.

After you've finished waxing, use the oil-paper wipes to remove the wax on your underarm. Or better yet, use Human Heart Nature Sunflower Oil. It soothes the skin, eliminates redness and prevents wax burns. Plus it's natural, unlike the wipes that come with Veet that has parabens.

Don't scrub your underarms during bathtime for at least 3 days after waxing, or until the burning sensation subsides.

If you can, use the sunflower oil as a deo for a week. It really works wonders.

And that's it! My DIY underarm waxing tips. I've had lots of wax burns and dark underarm episodes before I finally got the right procedure. I hope it will work for you.

Also, you can use other wax strips, like Glam Works, Beauty Formula. They work the same way and are even cheaper. Goodluck!

Product: Human Heart Nature Sunflower Beauty Oil

Before you read my review of Human Heart Nature Sunflower Beauty Oil, you might want to check the other half of this post here.

When I ran out of Ilog Maria Honeymilk Cleanser and Moisturizer, and going to their farm in Silang, Cavite or ordering online wasn't immediately possible, I tried another natural alternative: Human Heart Nature Sunflower Beauty Oil.

I am no stranger to beauty oils having used a few before. There's the oil I squeezed out from Myra-E's Vitamin E gel capsules, Jason's Jojoba Oil, and Derma E's Vitamin A with E Anti-Wrinkle Oil. But having a very oily face then, my oil-slathering rituals didn't last very long. I got tired of puncturing Vit. E gel capsules and messing pillows at night. I found out Jojoba oil suits my hair better. And after a few years, I finally decided to throw away the bottle of the anti-wrinkle oil, 90% filled, because it was already rancid.

But things have changed and I thought my face would now be more receptive to oils. So the next time I saw Human Heart Nature Sunflower Beauty Oil in a nearby Shopwise branch, I decided to grab a bottle.

It comes in two sizes, 50ml and 100ml, and boasts of containing 100% high-grade Sunflower oil - nothing else. It's also quite cheap, at P129 and P249 for 50ml and 100ml sizes respectively.

The oil is odorless, light (but not as light as Jojoba oil) and is quickly absorbed by the skin, depending on how much is used. Of course, if you use too much, you'll have grease all over. The pump bottle is very convenient to use. Just one squirt is enough for my whole face.

But it is all good?

Using the same pang-tamad na tao regimen, I can say it is, as far as moisturizing is concerned. No break outs. My face didn't get oilier. Instead, I get that natural healthy glow and my skin feels softer.

From the other reviews that I read before, they say that aside from moisturizing, sunflower oil also has skin-lightening properties, which makes this product good for lightening pimple marks. But I didn't notice that effect on me. Maybe because I only let it linger on my skin during bathtime as oppose to others who keep it on overnight.

I also use it to tame my frizzy hair and just recently, I use it on my underarm after waxing DIY-style, to get rid of all the sticky mess that the strips leave behind. It's very good in soothing wax burns (I get that everytime I wax). As far as lightening underarms, I haven't used it long enough on that part to say if it's effective or not.

Overall, Human Heart Nature Sunflower Beauty Oil live up to most of its claims. I can say it's a very good all-around beauty oil, which you can use on every part of the body that needs moisturizing.

UPDATE (12/05/2012)

I've used Human Heart Nature Sunflower Oil on my underarms for a considerably long time and I can say, it does whiten the skin. And if you do DIY underarm waxing, it's the best wax removal! My underarms always seem to get dark after DIY waxing. But that's not the case anymore since I started using the sunflower oil. It quickly relieves the redness and stinging sensation, which you usually get after underarm waxing. And it keeps the skin from getting dark.

Because I'm not sure of it's deodorizing properties, I'm only using Human Heart Nature Sunflower Oil on my underarm when I'm staying at home (which is mostly everyday). But it doesn't make my underarms smell nor does it feel icky (despite being an oil). I just can't say if it's an anti-perspirant as well, because I don't sweat a lot. I didn't note any difference in the amount of my perspiration either (as if I can measure that, but what I mean is I don't perspire more or less when I'm using the sunflower oil).

I also use it on my face, but it's hard to tell if it's Human Heart Nature Sunflower Oil or Shulammite Carrot Soap that's keeping my face whiter and brighter. Maybe both. They're the best combo for the face.

Product: St. Ives Skin Firming Lotion

St. Ives is my brand of choice for body lotion and I have been using it for the more than 10 years now, experimenting on different variants (my favorite is Collagen Elastin). I've seen the packaging, the label and the prices change but the effect on my skin has remained the same. My mom uses this, too and both of us would try another brand every once in a while, just out of curiosity or the desire to try something new, but we always go back to using St. Ives whenever the other brand would fail to live up to our standards of a good moisturizing product.

Our standards are fairly simple -- keep the skin soft, smooth and moisturized. Well, actually I just added another criteria -- that it's free of possible harmful ingredients like Parabens and Phthalates (the more natural the better). Scent and other gimmickry are just secondary and don't really matter most of the time.

After I gave birth, the effect of more than nine months of not applying lotion on my skin was horrible (I just didn't feel like using lotion when I was pregnant). I could see and feel how dry, dull and aged my skin has become and I badly needed a good moisturizer to bring it back to life.

But for some reasons, I bought a different brand (Avea Naturals Lotion) and wasn't satisfied with the results. So I did what I should've done the first time: bought St. Ives lotion. I choose the Skin Firming variant as I thought my skin needed some toning and firming, aside from lots and lots of moisturizing.

St. Ives Skin Firming Lotion costs a little over P200 and comes in a 532 ml pump bottle. The scent is somewhat neutral and doesn't linger on the skin. The color of the lotion is white and has a thin, spreadable consistency, which I really like because it feels light on the skin, is easily absorbed and leaves a non-sticky, non-greasy feeling.

It took only a week of daily use for my skin to recover from dehydration and lifelessness. Aside from keeping it soft, smooth and moisturized, it also gives it a visible healthy glow, which is more evident whenever I go outside. And you know the scratch test? It doesn't leave white marks anymore.

It's also quite economical as I only need to apply a thin film (although I think this depends on how dry your skin is) and it's enough to hydrate and moisturize my skin. I also apply it on my feet (I use twice as much) and it helps to improve the appearance of cracked heals.

I'm not sure about the skin firming property, but by just looking at my skin, I could tell that it has improved a lot. And I mean a lot, considering how bad my skin looked before I started using St. Ives Skin Firming Lotion.

After I empty the bottle, I will definitely buy again but I'm planning on trying out another variant.

Product: Avea Naturals Lotion

One time, when I ran out of lotion, I decided to try a different brand, one that is particularly cheaper than my regular brand. Yes, I was scrimping on a lotion. After scanning two whole shelves of lotions, body oils and other moisturizing products, both local and foreign brands, and being a stickler for natural products, I chose Avea Naturals Lotion.

It didn't strike me as a natural natural product but seeing no parabens in the ingredients list, I thought it passed my requirements. Right off the label, it claimed to be formulated for deep moisturizing. The scent wasn't bad either. But the thing that really got me in was the price -- only P99 for 600ml lotion (33% more). A good buy it seemed.

And then, there's my weird predilection for products that have expiration dates. My theory is that if it's really natural, it make sense for it not to last for a long time. Hence, the need and the advantage of having expiration dates.

But as it is with books, you mustn't judge a product by its label.

The first thing that I noticed when I applied the lotion was the scent. It smelled okay when you sniff it right from the bottle. But once applied on the skin, it didn't smell as nice anymore. Or maybe it's the chemical composition of my skin that altered the scent of the lotion. Either way, I don't like the smell and neither does my husband.

Other not so good points: it's sticky, it feels heavy on the skin and it leaves a shine (not a healthy glow) on the surface, like an oily residue or something.

It does very little in making my skin soft and smooth to touch. I don't have to scratch myself to check that it's moisturized as I could tell by just looking at my skin. But if I do, scratch myself that is, I see white traces -- an indication of a dry skin.

So it wasn't long before I realized that this isn't a good product after all. But not wanting to throw or give it away (and waste the P99 that I bought it with), I decided to use it on my feet instead, thinking that maybe it'll be more suitable there, relieving cracked skin and all. But again, I was wrong. Feet need more moisture than any part of the body, and Avea Naturals Lotion just couldn't deliver what it promised on the label.

I just stopped it using all together and bought myself a trusted brand. A little more expensive, but I get what I paid for.

Product: Human Heart Nature Feminine Wash

I noticed that my Human Heart Nature Feminine Wash bottle is almost empty so I guess, it's time that I write my review about it.

Honestly, I find it hard to review a product that you use on the most private part of your body. How do you gauge effectiveness? Unless you develop allergic reactions or some weird symptoms, you can't really tell if the product is doing its job, which in this case, is to keep the part sanitized and happy. But how do you measure sanitation? How can you tell if the part is happy?

Anyway, I decided to use Human Heart Nature Feminine Wash because I had slowly transformed into a natural-product nut and have resolved to avoid chemical-laden beauty products as much as possible. So one time, when I was buying  Human Heart Nature Shampoo and Conditioner at the nearest Shopwise branch, I also picked up a small bottle of their feminine wash.

Product: Deo Fresh Deodorant Stick

When I was pregnant, I decided to use mostly natural products and avoided those that contain active ingredients, which are said to be harmful to an unborn child. So when I needed to replace my whitening deodorant, I bought this deodarant that comes in the form of a smooth alum crystal stick, which I thought was Deonat, a deo product made from ammonium alum and claims to contain no chemicals and skin irritants.

It was only after a few months of using it when I found out that the brand name is Deo Fresh [Deodorant Stick], and not Deonat. Both deodorants have almost identical packaging, except that  Deo Fresh has the word "TAWAS" on the base. I guess, I didn't bother to read the label when I purchased it because I thought that Deonat is the only one of its kind in the market. Of course, I realize now that such product is a rarity.

Deonat or not, I continued using it anyway. I'm not the type who would throw away a product just because it turned out to be a different brand. Besides, it's also made from ammonium alum, and aloe leaf juice, or so the label claimed. But is it good or at least worth the P170+ tag price (which is more expensive than most local brands)?

Product: Beauty Products for Pregnant Women

Pregnancy made me more conscious of the things that I take in and put on my body. I learned a lot that we deemed okay, even healthy, prior to pregnancy can be in fact harmful to an unborn child. On top of the list are the beauty products that we use everyday. This prompted me to carefully examine every product that I use, and discontinue those that are suspect or proven to be unsafe for pregnant women.

Ingredients that I took note of and labeled as "unsafe" are Salicylic Acid, Retinoids, Tretinoin, Hydroquinone, Parabens, and Phthalates. I also discarded anything that says "whitening".

PRODUCTS THAT I KEPT USING

Ilog Maria Honey Propolis Shampoo
While a lot of pregnant women complain about falling hair, I didn't have that problem at all thanks to Honey Propolis Shampoo. I actually have fewer hair fall now since I started using this natural shampoo.

Human Heart Nature Moisturizing Shampoo and Body Wash
The problem with Honey Propolis Shampoo is I feel my scalp is not clean enough because it doesn't bubble (as much as I want) and it's leaves my hair very rough and sticky. This is why I used HHN Moisturizing Shampoo for when I want a clean-scalp feeling, although it also makes my hair coarse and sticky, but not as much.Plus, it's better scented than Honey Propolis Shampoo.

Product: Ilog Maria Products

The first time I learned about Ilog Maria products was when it was featured in a TV show (which I forgot). I got interested in their natural bee-derivative products because at that time, I was getting frustrated with my pimple breakout. But I thought that Ilog Maria HoneyBee Farm was too far away from where I live and there's no way I can purchase their products without going there. Fast forward to a few years later, I learned that they have a website where I can order online and the products will be shipped to my house. The beauty of online shopping.

So after scoring forums and blogs for feedback and recommendations, I proceeded to their website and made my first order. Below is my short review for each product:

1. Ilog Maria Soaps. I ordered their mini soaps first to try and test. They come in flat round shape that is about half-inch thick, more than 2 inches in diameter and weigh 45 grams. They smell very natural and are softer than most commercial soaps so you have to keep them in a dry place to make them last longer. My first orders were Bamboo Charcoal Bergamot and Lime, Milk and Honey, and Kalamansi Ginger.

Product: Godiva Inhibition

When I was looking for a new deo to try (after using Avon's Quelch for soooo many years), Godiva Inhibition Deodorant was among the most recommended. It's conveniently sold at most Watson's branches and was said to live up to its claims, so my choice was made easily.

Godiva Inhibition is a roll-on deo. And being a roll-on, I noted and experienced the usual complaints such as longer drying time, hence the sticky, wet feeling when not dried thoroughly and the yellow stain on clothes. I think there are no other options--no spray, no stick, no cream variants--to choose from so if you are averse to anything with balls on top, I'd say cross this out from your list.

But if you don't care about the manner of application, you might be interested in its product claims. According to the label, Godiva Inhibition can help lessen hair growth, which means less waxing, less shaving, less laser treatment is needed. Add that to the whitening and antiperspirant properties, this would seem to be the best deodorant that will ever touch your armpit.

But is there any truth to the claims?

As an antiperspirant, it wasn't impressive because there were times when I felt wet. Honestly, I doubt if it can keep me dry and comfortable during hot humid summer months. If I apply too much, I'd get icky yellow stains on my clothes. If I apply less, I'd get soaked underarms.

As a whitening product, I did see some changes, but nothing significant. Perhaps the most significant is that it didn't darken my underarms.

As for impeding hair growth, I really can't tell because I pluck my underarm hair often (which is a bad practice, I know) and if they were growing slower, the difference was very minimal for me to notice. Although I did observe that my chicken-skin (that I got from plucking) got softer and smoother since I started using Godiva Inhibition.

I forgot how much it costs (it didn't go beyond P200, I'm sure of that) because it's been a while since I used up my first bottle and have decided to switch to a different deodorant. Overall, it's an okay product. But I chose to try another brand because of its inability to keep me dry at all-times, the hassle of waiting for it to dry, and the yellow stains that it leaves on my clothes.
